Hedley's Story

I completed an Escape Trekking Adventure your on the Kokoda Track in June 2017 and I would recommend this tour group to anyone considering walking the Track.
The tour guide, Shane Goodwin, promoted camaraderie and good fun, dealt with any serious problem when it arose and kept us informed with the significance of the various stages of the trek during the Japanese advance and retreat. At Surgeons Rock and Brigade Hill he conducted memorial services fot the Australian who died there. It brought tears to our eyes.
As we advanced along the track and became aware of the sacrifice of so many Australian and Japanese soldiers, we also became aware of the impossible conditions they fought under.
Our guide also enjoyed very good relations with our Papuan porters and local people in the villages we visited. Escape Trekking Adventures helps many of these villages and consequently we gained a little knowledge of Papua New Guinea culture.
Ten out of ten to ETA.
